Traditional Tuesdays #38Howdy peeps? Welcome to edition 38 of Traditional Tuesdays . This week, like all of the other weeks, I'll be featuring fifteen works of art from the Traditional Gallery. Any more than that might and you might loss interest or it could cause your monitor to fail in an explosion of awesomeness. I would feel guilty if that were to happen, so I'm keeping it at fifteen! The Traditional gallery is a vast storeroom of work that covers many mediums and genres. I've tried to show a good mix of artwork, but I don't have room for them all. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the show!**WARNING:Viewing these works of art may cause giddiness, elevated heart rates, andhappiness in the pants(which could lead to blindness)! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!** :thumb32304

The Beginning of American ComicsI am sure this is a topic a lot of you would be interested in! As with my article on the Beginning of Manga. I'm only going to touch on the root of it for now as I have other articles planned to tie them together! The American comic book, is really quite new in comparison with past narrative art forms. In fact we haven't had a century yet of the modern American comic as we know it.Let us begin by looking at The Adventures of Obadiah Oldbuck by Swiss artist Rudolphe Töpffer. It is considered to be the oldest known comic book and started in Europe and was printed in several languages all the way back in 1837, but it was reprinted in 1842 in New York, the first printed comic book in America. There were no word balloons as you would imagine comics today, however there was text in the book to describe what was going on. This was produced in a period of comic book histor
Creeping Wednesday #2It's the second Creeping Wednesday feature! This time, the theme is Ophelia, and you can see here some artworks suggested by awesome deviants under the previous article. Remember, I show here only traditional, relatively not so popular pieces to bring them attention they deserve. The next theme is an Owl and I'd love to see what Owl artworks you can suggest! A Celebration of AgeGetting old is seen by so many as something to avoid, complain about, joke about and perhaps even ignore until it won't go away any longer. Age for many when they pass a certain milestone of years, becomes a curse or something to be ashamed of. Hair colours are constantly covered over in favour of looking young and ageless as much as possible.Skin is constantly plastered with all manner of creams and lotions to try and prevent the rivers of life carving a niche into the flesh. Bodies are worked until they can work no longer to try and force them into retaining their youthful shape and feel but in reality we don't stop and recognise, not even for a moment - that age is beautiful. We forget, and barely acknowledge for most of the time, that age is associated with increased diversity. You will find a more diverse people in a room of seventy year old people, than you will in a room of seventeen year old people. The wisdom, experience and attitude of

Traditional Tuesdays #52OMG OMFG OMFG! This is week fifty-two of this little article, and I can honestly say that I didn't think it would last this long. The night I started this feature, I was bored and just browsing around the Traditional Gallery. I was finding all kinds great artwork, that for one reason or another I couldn't/wouldn't give a DD. It could be because they had a DD recently, but mainly it was for a link to go back and see what they created next, and if they took it to the next level. Now it's more for artwork that I no longer have time to DD, I can't DD everything! I still find the article fun to do, and I'll keep doing it until it no longer is. So.... here is fifteen works of art that I thought you should see. I can't trust all of you all with anymore awesomeness, you might hurt yourself! Anyway, on with the show!**WARNING:Viewing these works of art may cause giddiness, elevated heart rates, and happiness in the pants(which could
